PRESSED FLOWER PATTERN IN FLOATING FRAMES WORKSHOP | JUNE 24, 1-3PM

35.00

Oshibana, the art of pressing flowers in such a way as to make a whole picture, dates to the 16th century. Artists used pressed plants in whole or part until completing an image. Throughout the 1900s, the art of pressed flowers became increasingly popular. It was mainly used to preserve a special gift or moment in a person's life.

Join us for an afternoon of pressed flower art.  Local artist, Amber Hatchett, will walk us through separating flowers and foliage to create a patterned layout with those components amongst a floating frame.

$35 includes flowers, supplies for a floating frame, needed tools, tutorial, and of course...your very own pressed flower art piece! The beautiful florals for this workshop will be provided by local flower farm, Blue Ridge Blooms.
